Globalization and digitalization are producing changes in the workplace that in turn require changes in educational systems.
Germany’s vocational training takes place in two environments: the company and the vocational school. This allows apprentices to apply their acquired knowledge directly in their work place. The dual training model enriches the expertise and the productivity of apprentices and increases the innovative capacity of participating companies. Costa Rica is one of the countries looking to implement this dual approach to vocational education.
